Subject: Meeting
The Seaside Signal had an article about the Calpine project. The article mentioned a Jan. 7th meeting of the "Port Advisory Committee".
Can you fill me in about this meeting?
Don

Subject: Becoming An All Too Familiar Scenario
Scare Tactics? Looks more like truth is beginning to prevail nationwide.
Like I have said, there's a new "Gold Rush" getting ready to happen out there in Natural Gas and the involved corporations are playing for real here.
If you are an investor and forgetting for a moment about the mortality of citizens of a community, there is tremendous potential here.
Maybe that's what drives our community leadership to overlook their constituents and commit our county to this project.
Only time will prove-out the history here.
Don't think for one minute that a measely little group of 38,300 people are going to stand in the way of potential profitability.
Maybe this will be one of those "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" things.
It's at least interesting that the citizens in and around Galveston, Texas are, as some would put it, "Fear Mongering" and concerned about their mortality. Shame on them!!!
Oct. 21, 2004, Public should have known about LNG deal, Texas City Sun, ( Galveston, Texas)
BP recently announced plans to build a Liquefied Natural Gas terminal on Pelican Island in Galveston. That announcement has stirred up a hornets’ nest of people who fear a LNG site is more prone to accidents, terrorist attacks and a possible danger to the surrounding community as a result.
On the Island meanwhile, city and port officials are faced with another dilemma. Many were well aware that BP was in serious talks about locating the LNG terminal on Pelican Island, but they failed to let anyone in the public know about it.
Governmental bodies should not — and by our interpretation of the law cannot — keep the public in the dark about what they do with the public’s money, property or safety.
- More secrecy by the energy industry and our friends at BP
- This time some public officials were aware and failed to let anyone know about it
- We wonder how much the Fed knows and is not telling us
- Citizens are being treated like mushrooms - keeping us in the dark until someone decides to let us know
- That sucking sound you hear is of our civil rights being flushed down the toilet]
Oct. 20, 2004, Group questions LNG plans, The Daily News,
GALVESTON — About 200 residents joined Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas and city and county officials at Rosenberg Library Tuesday in seeking more information on BP Energy’s plan to build a liquefied natural gas terminal on Pelican Island.
Galveston resident Deborah Conrad said she did not like the secrecy involved and suspected “most of us are infuriated talking to you after a lease was signed.”
“I don’t think we want you here,” she said. “It’s not advantageous for the city of Galveston. We are all jaded enough, given the last four years, because we don’t have a vote.”
The same secrecy BP Energy used in Galveston, could be occurring in the Logan Township, NJ project.
BP has not sat down with Logan Township officials and the State of Delaware concerning the CZA.
We call this "Stealth Marketing" and it has the approval of the Fed.
This is a sad time for America since secrecy prevails at the expense of our civil rights.]

Subject: Warrenton Support
Hi....
FYI, I spoke with Jeff Hazen before Christmas. He is the former Warrenton mayor, and recently deposed city councilor. I asked him about whether he would consider leading a charge on the Calpine project now that he will be "retired" from politics. He said that is the ONLY exception he will make, because he thinks the project is very important to Warrenton.
We agreed to talk after the first of the year. He will be GREAT in this capacity.
